The 2008 Nissan Quest nameplate brings with it the superb combination of power, comfort and reliability. Some of the positive aspects of this years line-up are good engine power, excellent crash-test ratings, comfortable and feature packed interior cabin, versatile space for passengers and cargo, lots of safety features, total entertainment facility and an optional navigation system. Basically, this minivan is regarded as a middle-of-the-road model that comes with a standard front-engine, front-wheel-drive platform with stablemates like Nissan's Altima, Maxima and Murano. The virtually unchanged Quest line-up has already been launched in the market for 2008.
Exterior Look
This year, the manufacturer has launched the Quest Line-up in four trims, base 3.5, 3.5 S, 3.5 SE and 3.5 SL. At the first glance the latest models seem quite similar to its predecessors, but however with a second look the differences become clearer and distinct. The exterior body is highlighted with arching lines, a modern and architectural front grille, speed-sensitive variable intermittent windshield wipers, halogen headlights and optional "puddle lamps" mounted on the underside of the outside mirrors. For this year, the manufacturer has included optional 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, as an upgraded feature to the standard 16-inch wheels.
Interior Cabin
In the new Quest models, one can find spacious and comfortable seating arrangement for seven passengers across the three rows with generous legroom and headroom. For all the four models, the manufacturer has come up with different levels of seating arrangements. The dashboard features avant garde styling highlighted with plenty of innovative elements. The gauges placed there are easy to see and read. The audio and climate controls are mounted on a horizontally based surface that gives the interior cabin a very stylish feel. Even though the inside cabin has many features, there is one aspect where the manufacturer must really think on. It is the optional navigation system which when users of SL trim can get benefited from.
Space
Even with very minor changes, the Quest is still the roomiest front-wheel drive minivan. With the standard foldaway 2nd and 3rd row seats, there is no problem for space for storing a number of things that one might need for a trip of two to three days. When all seats are in their real position, the Quest models provide a cargo capacity of 32.1 cubic feet, however when the 2nd and 3rd row seats are folded flat, one gets a storage space of 148.7 cubic feet. This is not the end, even inside the cabin; there are specific standard storage facilities such as eight-cup holders, second-row underfloor storage, rear door storage pockets and lockable glove compartment.
Comfortable Ride
Till now, both the dealers and users have come up with a positive 2008 Nissan Quest review to make it a comfortable, safe and reliable minivan on the road as far as the four-wheel drive is concerned. Under the hood there is this standard 3.5-liter, DOHC, 24-valve, V-6 engine that delivers 235 horsepower and 240 lb-ft torque. This powerful and award-winning engine is mated with a standard 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with overdrive. Moreover the standard 4-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) when combined with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) provides maximum braking power in almost any situation.
Safety
A good range of safety features are there in the current line-up. The new models have performed exceptionally well in government crash tests. All the models have high marks in both front- and side-impact government crash tests. The safety gears list has almost all the necessary safety related equipments. Some of the safety measures that can be found across the four models are Traction Control System (TCS), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), 3-point ALR/ELR passenger seat belt system, front seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, child-safety rear door locks along with Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System and many more. The safety segment is the most powerful feature in the 2008 Nissan Quest line-up.
