The Nissan Quest has already been launched in the market with some very minor changes both for the interior and exterior segments. This popular model by Nissan Motors has changed the trends of the minivan segment with emphasis on power, style, comfort and space. This sturdy and sophisticated four-wheel minivan not only meets the demands of off-road enthusiasts but also delivers a smooth and hospitable ride on the interstate.
Body Styles
This year, the manufacturer has launched the model in four trims, base 3.5, 3.5 S, 3.5 SE and 3.5 SL. The Nissan Quest that is basically regarded as a middle-of-the-road minivan comes with a standard front-engine, front-wheel-drive platform with stablemates like Nissan's Altima, Maxima and Murano. The MSRP of the latest models are quite reasonable with the price starting from $24,630 - $34,330.
Exterior Styling
At the first glance the models seem quite similar to its predecessors, but however with a second look the differences become clearer and distinct. In the latest Nissan Quest models, the manufacturer has offered arching lines, a modern and architectural front grille, speed-sensitive variable intermittent windshield wipers, halogen headlights and optional "puddle lamps" mounted on the underside of the outside mirrors. It also features optional 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, as an upgraded feature as compared to the standard 16-inch wheels.
Power Under The Hood
All the four trims get power from a standard and powerful 3.5-liter, DOHC, 24-valve, V-6 engine with award-winning VQ technology that produces more than 230 horsepower and 240 lb-ft torque. This engine that has been assembled at Nissan’s Decherd, Tenn. engine assembly facility is mated with a standard 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with overdrive. The transmission up-shifts smoothly and downshifts promptly for additional passing power. The design of this V-6 engine includes state-of-the-art design features including Continuous Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS), micro-finished crankshaft and camshaft, molybdenum-coated pistons and sequential multi-point electronic fuel injection.
Smooth Driving Impression
Among the faster minivans, Quest has a reputation for providing good mileage and a smoother ride. In the latest Nissan Quest models, there are various traction and braking technologies such as Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Traction Control System (TCS) that help a lot to make the minivan respond the way you want it to. The standard 4-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) when combined with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA), provides outstanding braking power in any situation. Each of these front-wheel drive vehicles except the top level SE is equipped with power-assisted engine-speed-sensitive steering.
With its refined look, there is no doubt that the 2008 Nissan Quest will still remain the best four-wheel drive minivan in the market.
