Ride handling in Quest is one aspect that has always been prioritized by the manufacturer since its inception. All four models of the 2009 Quest are geared up with a standard 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine, rated at 235 horsepower and 240 Ib-ft of torque. The powerful engine is based on Nissan's VQ35 engine series and its design includes state-of-the-art design features, such as, Continuous Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS), microfinished crankshaft and camshaft, molybdenum-coated pistons and sequential multipoint electronic fuel injection.
The responsive engine is matched with a standard five-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. Quest utilizes Nissan's advanced FF-L (Front engine, Front-wheel drive, Large) platform, that features 4-wheel independent suspension with a rear multi-link design and front and rear stabilizer bars. Power-assisted
rack-and-pinion steering, 4-wheel vented disc brakes, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), brake assist system, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS) are all standard features in the 2009 Nissan Quest. Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) is standard on the 3.5 SE model only.
